| DISAPPOINTING DEFEAT FOR ROYALISTS |
Windsor & Eton suffered a disappointing defeat in their quest to gain promotion going down 1-0 at home to AFC Hayes.
A single Victor Osubu goal was enough to secure the point for the visitors and give Windsor players something to think about.
A distinct lack of action in the first half saw neither side create any chances in the opening 45 minutes, but the game did show signs of coming to life in the second half.
Michael Chennells came close twice having one effort blocked and another go wide.
Dean Clark then forced Rob Bullivant into a save before Osubu put the ball over an open goal after Ross Ahir hit the bar.
AFC Hayes eventually took the lead when Osubu bundled over Clark's free kick late on in the half.
Windsor almost came close to rescuing a point in the closing minutes when a flurry of corners saw efforts come close but not close enough.
