| NEW YEAR OFF TO A FLYER |
Windsor & Eton got 2009 off to the perfect start with a 2-0 win away at Uxbridge and climbing back to the top of the league.
Andrew Fagan's first half header and Michael Chennells second half strike were enough to secure the points and give their side the perfect start to the year
The match was slow to get going but all of a sudden came to life mid-way through the half.
Johnnie Dyer got through and looked odds on to put Uxbridge ahead only to shot wide of Rob Bullivant's goal.
From the goal kick Windsor won a free kick on the half way line which was taken by Paul Coyne and he found the head of Andrew Fagan who looped the ball over Paul McCarthy and into the net.
This was closely followed by some good passing by Windsor ending with a cross from Coyne and Bruce Wilson heading wide.
Uxbridge started well in the second half with both Mark Dennison and Danny Tilbury coming very close.
Windsor then effectively wrapped the game up mid-way through the half when another pin-point ball from Coyne found Chennells who rounded McCarthy before clipping the ball into the net.
Substitutions from both sides failed to alter the score in a match that the visitors deserved to win.
