| ROYALISTS SCRAPE THROUGH |
Windsor & Eton moved into the quarter-finals of the Berks & Bucks Senior Cup following a 2-1 extra time win away at Abingdon Utd.
Ben Porter set Windsor on their way with Anaclet Odihambo levelling from the spot before Chris Cahill hit the winner in extra time.
Royalists manager Keith Scott made 8 changes to the side that beat Brurnham 5-0 at the weekend giving returning players the chance of a game.
Just eight minutes into the game and Windsor got themselves ahead when Bruce Wilson's long ball was neatly controlled by Ben Porter who mangaed to turn and shoot past Sam Warrell from the edge of the area.
Both sides came close to adding to the score-line and moments after a failed penalty claim Abingdon were awarded a spot kick when Wilson brought down Billy Beeches.
Anaclet Odhiambo stepped and just squeezed the ball past Chico Ramos who managed to get his fingertips to the ball.
Matthew Biddle should have put Abingdon ahead moments later when he got his head to Tom Austin's cross but was denied by a fine save from Ramos.
The second half saw both sides competing hard for the winning goal with minimal chances.
The best of which fell to the hosts when Odhiambo headed wide from Beeches cross when it looked easier to score.
With extra time required it was Windsor that finally wrapped things up with Chris Cahill the quickest to react when Dave Tilbury's effort was blocked late in the first period of extra time.
