Windsor & Eton suffered a major set-back in their push for a promotion place going down 5-3 at home to Brook House.
Matt Seedel and Ben Porter cancelled out Brook House's early lead only for the scores to be levelled at half time before the visitors went on to win.
Work had been carried out on the pitch right up to kick off to ensure the game would go ahead, but even then it was highly debatable as to whether the game should have been played.
With the game finally underway it was the visitors that got off to the best possible start.
Windsor's Dave Tilbury brought down Jim Froud and referee O'Brien awarded a spot kick that Jamie Mitchell slotted past Sam Mazurek.
Windsor got themselves level on the quarter hour mark when a good run by Jon Henry-Hayden set up Paul Coyne to deliver a cross that Matt Seedel headed past Mark Phillpott.
Ben Porter almost put Windsor ahead when his header from a Seedel cross was palmed away by Phillpott.
Brook House thought that they had a claim for a second penalty when Ryan Kirkland raced through and tumbled over Mazurek as he collect the ball. No penalty was awarded and Kirkland was booked for diving.
Windsor did manage to get themselves in front when Mazurek's free kick was flicked onto Porter who managed to lift the ball over Phillpott.
Deep into first half injury time and Brook House managed to pull level when the Windsor defence failed to clear the ball and Kirkland stabbed it into the net.
The visitors made another quick start to the second half and found themselves in front for the second time in the match.
Chris Owens broke down the left and swung in a cross that looped over Mazurek and clipped the inside of the far post and into the net.
Just a few minutes later and it was all square again when Chris Cahill's long ball set Henry-Hayden through and he grabbed his first Windsor goal, slotting the ball under Phillpott.
It was all change again five minutes later when Coyne tried to see the ball out only for Kirkland to nip in and lay the ball across for Jay Pertera to tap the ball in.
Both sides made started to make changes as Windsor looked to get back in to the game and Brook House looked to try and finish it off.
The result was made definite in injury time when Kirkland turned provider again, this time setting up substitute Adam Pero for an easy finish.
