Windsor & Eton stumbled in their bid to make up their games in hand after a goalless draw at home to Taunton Town.
Despite hitting the woodwork twice, the Royalists were unable to make their chance count in a match they dominated.
From the start Windsor looked the better side and created many half chances, but it wasn't until mid-way through the half that they got their first real opportunity.
Jon Case continued to show good form down the right, getting in a cross for Michael Chennels who headed over the bar.
Moments later Chennels had the visiting defence in disarray as he made space for a shot that seemed to be curling in but came crashing back off the cross bar.
Taunton's only chance of the match came shortly before half time when Charlie Welch got through but was unable to beat Sam Mazurek who did well to turn the ball round the post.
Into the second half and Case continued to supply the ammunition for both Matt Seedel and Chennels but neither of them could apply the killer touch.
Windsor looked like they had got the goal that they had deserved just after the hour when Paul Coyne's quick free kick sent Chennels through who lobbed Ian Jones only for the ball to spin off the ground and hit the post.
Taunton played out the rest of the game happy to take a single point in a game that they know they should have lost.
