With almost a month of the year gone Windsor & Eton finally played their first game of 2007 notching up a 3-1 win at home against Marlow.
Matt Seedel got Windsor going with two first half strikes, the third coming from James Edgerley in injury time with James Flint netting a second half consolation.
Windsor showed no 'ring rust' considering that they had not played a league game since Boxing Day getting straight in to the match and rarely looking troubled.
Matt Seedel came very close in the opening 10 minutes when a defensive mix-up allowed him to line up an effort that was well saved by Ian MaCtaggart.
MaCtaggart could do nothing moments later when Seedel nipped in to give Windsor the lead.
Seb Neptune made a mess of a simple back pass to MaCtaggart allowing Seedel to get to the ball before the Marlow keeper on the edge of the area.
Neptune's day got worse as he was immediately taken off the pitch and replaced by John Gray.
Paul Coyne was unlucky not to double the lead when he latched onto Dave Tilbury's long clearance and raced through only for MaCtaggart to block his effort.
James Edgerley, Michael Chennels and Seedel all came close to doubling the lead but couldn't find a way through.
That was until substitute Gray chopped down Jon Case leaving referee Crease no option but to award a penalty which Seedel slotted past MaCtaggart.
The game was effectively killed off in first half injury time when Chennels rolled the ball across the 18 yard line for Edgerley to fire in.
Marlow attempted to get back into the game within minutes of the second half starting when Jeff Lamb sent the ball over the bar from Stuart MaClellan.
Mid-way through the half and Jermaine Roche burst through and managed to get round Sam Mazurek and was only denied by a last ditch slide from Jamie Furmage.
From the resulting corner Marlow grabbed their goal when James Flint was first to react to a loose ball.
Windsor seemed to sit back slightly in the second half after effectively ending the game in the first, but did enough to wrap up all three points.
