Football mad Sean, who had already lost a leg to bone cancer, died from lung cancer.

His mum, Carol, said: "Sean will be greatly missed by all of his family.

"I would like to thank everyone who helped make thelast two months so enjoyable with all the fundraising and donations towards the garden."

The family's overgrown garden was transformed in the summer when the community clubbed together with the Sebastian's Action Trust to make it safer for Sean to play in.

Jane Gates, founder of the Trust set up in memory of her son, who died in 2003, said: "Sean touchedour lives with his lively sense of humour.

"Our lives have been enriched for having known him for such a short time and our thoughts and prayers are with the Gold family, who we will continue to support."

The funeral will be held on Thursday at All Saints' Church in Dedworth at 11am.
