MATCH REPORT
WINDSOR & ETON 4 - 1 CHESHAM UNITED
BGB League Div 1 South & West | Wednesday 18th October 2006
CHENNS TRIPLE SEALS WIN

Michael Chennels Windsor & Eton have gone from the ridiculous to the sublime over the past couple of months with another impressive win at home against Chesham United.

Matt Seedel opened for Windsor with Michael Chennels bagging a hat-trick before Dean Brennan added a late consolation goal.

Windsor started brightly against a Chesham side forced to make late changes to their team sheet after three of their starting eleven were stuck on a train.

Michael Chennels popped up with two early chances, the first went just wide of the post from distance and his second did the same when he got his head to a Paul Coyne cross.

Windsor took the lead soon after when Ben Porter managed to turn away from Lee Grant and cross from the corner of the area setting up Matt Seedel to head past Matt Nieozwiecki.

It wasn't too long before the lead was doubled. Seedel broke down the right hand side and crossed to a totally unmarked Chennels who slammed the ball past Nieozwiecki.

Chesham tried to stem the flow by bringing on one of their late arrivals, Leon Fisher, who replaced Liam Walsh, but it made no difference.

Sam Mazurek sent a long ball over the top of the Chesham back line. Nieozwiecki came out to clear but had a 'Paul Robinson' moment and totally missed the ball allowing Chennels to bag his second.

Into first half injury time and Chennels should have completed his hat-trick.

Mark Burgess' quick throw went straight over the head of Paul Covington giving Chennels a run on goal. Chennels tried to lob Nieozwiecki but the ball came back off the bar and then he fired the rebound over.

Chesham made a further change at the start of the second half when Cedric Abraham replaced Covington but this still didn't stoop Windsor pushing on.

Ricci Dolan had an effort pushed wide after he was allowed to find a way through the visiting defence, for once Nieozwiecki managed to get something right.

Chesham tried all they could to get back into the game, even resulting to diving with Dean Brennan earning a yellow card having been warned only minutes before.

If the game wasn't already over for Chesham it was on 63 minutes when Chennels completed his hat-trick.

Dolan did well to win a challenge with two Chesham players before rolling the ball through to Chennels who slid the ball under Nieozwiecki's body.

To Chesham's credit they didn't give up and came close when Brennan headed James Gray's 70th minute cross over the bar.

Brennan did grab a consolation goal with a few minutes to go when he got his head on the end of a Abraham cross.
