Mark cooper scored the only goal in the first half in a game that also saw Windsor record their first clean sheet of the season.
Despite 8 changes to the side that drew away at Didcot at the weekend, Windsor started strongley and rarley looked in trouble.
In came Iain Gardiner, Terry O'Connor, Chris Cahill, Matt Elverson, Ben Porter, Omar Maqsood and James Edgerley along with Dave Tilbury who returned from suspension.
A first team debut was also given to 17 year old Adam Spellman who came on as a late substitute for O'Connor.
Windsor dominated the early exchanges and finally got their reward within 20 minutes when Terry O'Connor's corner was floated perfectly for Mark Cooper to head past Craig Nicholson.
Windsor could have added to their socre minutes later when Ben Porter's lob went over the bar and James Edgerley's shot from an O'Connor cross was well saved.
Into the second half and Windsor were denied a penalty when John Boswell brought down Edgerley in the box.
Hanwell were lucky to finish with all their players on the pitch as Boswell survived with just a ticking off from the referee after he brought down Porter with the Windsor striker clean through.
Miniutes later Anthony Rowlands was luck to escape with a yellow card when he launched a two footed challenge at Chris Cahill.
