ROYALISTS DOWN

Windsor & Eton's relegation was confirmed after 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Chelmsford City.

Peter Holsgrove had given the home side a second half lead but goals from Richard Halle and Tony Boot confirmed the Royalists fate.

Throughout the first half chances were at a minimum and the few that did materialise were wasted by both sides.

Lee Williams put over on open goal from close range early on as did Alex Fiddes late in the half.

Windsor had similar problems with their only chance of the half. Spencer Walsh's free kick eventually fell for Lee Kersey whos shot was deflected to Dave Warner and his effort blocked.

The second half would proved more fruitful for both sides with the home side striking first.

Daniel Lunan was dispossessed by Adam Wallacce and his cross found Peter Holsgrove who struck the ball from 20 yards past Gavin King.

The elead was only to last 10 minutes when a nightmare moment for keeper Kieron Drake was o strike.

A free kick 30 yards out was struck by Richard Halle and seemed to be a simple take for Drake but somehow the ball squeezed through his legs and into the net.

Dave Warner was only inches from restoring the lead but he couldn't quite reach Lee Holsgroves cross.

Chelmsford got themselves ahead in he final 10 minutes when Jamie Moralee managed to break away and put in a low cross which was poked in by Tony Boot.

Windsor pushed forwaqed in the final minutes of the match to try and salvage a point from the game but further efforts from Gavin Tomlin and Adam Wallace couldn't find the net.
