WINDSOR FAIL TO BUILD

Windsor & Eton failed to build on last weeks success as they went down 3-0 away at Braintree Town.

Goals in the first half from James Baker and Eugene Ofori were followed late in the second by Carl Griffiths for a home side victory.

Braintree started by far the brighter of the two teams and came very close in the opening couple of minutes.

Bradley Quinton's long throw was headed onto the bar by Eugene Ofori and then wide by Matt Joseph.

Windsor's lack of chances has been a problem all season and yet again it would see them suffer.

Mid-way through the half, Braintree got themselves a deserved lead when James Baker ran through and his shot took an unfortunate deflection off Lee Kersey and over Kieron Drake.

The lead was doubled only a few minutes later with Ofori heading in Mark Jones' cross.

Shortly before the end of the first half Windsor manager Dave Carroll was dealt another blow when Lee Holsgrove was stretchered off for the second time this season with a bad ankle injury.

Windsor found it hard to get back into the match, even bringing on the remaining Holsgrove brothers didn't seem to make the required difference.

The game was all but over with 20 minutes remaining when a second yellow card saw Lee Kersey sent off. There were no arguments about the challenge for the second booking but the first was extremely harsh.

Braintree made sure that there was no coming back for Windsor when Drake parried Louis Riddle's log range effort and Carl Griffiths nipped in to add the third.
