ROYALISTS LOSE TO STAINES

Windsor & Eton were left still waiting for their first league win of the season after going down 2-1 at home to Staines Town.

Jamie Jarvis had put the home side ahead but goals from Tariq Nabil and Michael Murphy gave Staines the victory.

Jarvis returned, as captain, for his first game since mid-march after his sending off against Slough Town, and got his side off to the perfect start.

Just four minutes into the game Paul Holsgrove floated a free kick into the area and Jarvis headed in.

Neither side ever looked like adding to the score sheet during the first half until Staines equlised right at the end of the half.

A Windsor free kick was far too easily dealt with allowing Luke Muldowney to break away and send the ball into the Windsor area for Tariq Nabil to score.

The second half looked to heading the same way as the first with both sides struggling to get close to scoring.

Then, coming up to the final five minutes, former Windsor defender Michael Murphy got on the end of a Muldowney corner to put Staines ahead.

Substitute Craig Maskell could have put the game well beyond Windsor in injury time when Andre De Lisser blocked Lee Kersey's clearance and crossed to Maskell who blasted high and wide of an open goal.
