ROYALISTS SUFFER SECOND DEFEAT

Windsor & Eton suffered their second defeat of the season going down 2-1 away at Chelmsford City.

First half goals from Jamie Richards and Lee Summerscale gave the home side the lead with Paul Holsgrove oulling one back in the second half.

Windsor started well and should have taken an early lead when Matt Bicknell's corner found the head of Paul Holsgrove and his effort was knocked off the line with the follow up effort from Adam Wallace being saved by Anthony Anstead.

From then on Windsor found themselves in the back foot and when Jamie Richards got his head to Michael Haswell's cross they also found themselves a goal behind.

Only minutes later the lead was doubled when Lee Summerscale's cross eluded Kieron Drake and went straight into the net.

Chelmsford continued to press for more and squandered numerous chances to increase their lead further.

Windsor manager, Dave Carroll, made an early change in the second half when he replaced Adam Wallace with Dean Clark and it seemed to make a difference.

It was the substitute midfielders cross that was handled by Jerrome Sobers earning the visitors a penalty. Clark stepped up only to see his spot kick come back off the post.

It wasn't all bad news though as the ball wasn't cleared properly and found it way back to Paul Holsgrove on the edge of the area and he fired a shot past Anstead into the top corner of the net.

Both sides had what appeared to be stone wall penalties turned down by the referee as the match drew to a close but Chelmsford hung on for all the points.
