ROYALISTS SLIP AGAIN

Windsor & Eton slipped to another defeat, this time going down 1-0 at home to Hendon.

A single second half John Frendo free kick was enough to separate the two sides in an unimpressive match.

Both sides struggled to get going in the first half and opportunities sparse.

Hendon came close early on when Gary Meakin's shot was pushed away by Chuck Martini and John Frendo headed over.

Windsor only came close with a couple of late efforts. A shot by Terry O'Connor was blocked by Dave King as were follow-up efforts by Jamie Jarvis and Dominic White.

The second half wasn't much different with speculative efforts from Terry O'Connor, Lee Holsgrove and Justin Skinner just kept Windsor's heads above water.

The turning point came mid-way through the second half when Dave Tilbury brought down Eugene Ofori.

John Frendo stepped up and struck a superb free kick past Martini.

Windsor could have snatched a point in the closing minutes when Adam Mansueto's free kick resulted in a melee in the box and efforts from Adam Crittenden, Justin Skinner and Dave Tilbury were all somehow blocked.
