MISTAKES COST DEAR

Windsor & Eton fell to their fifth defeat of the season with a 2-1 loss away at Hendon.

Paul Holsgrove gave Windsor a half time lead but goals from Ross Pickett and Mark Nicholls won the match for Hendon.

Chuck Martini Fumbled The First Goal

This wasn't what you would call a classic match and it took a while to get started with the first real chance not developing until the 20th minute.

Richard McDonagh's free kick was knocked back across the goal and then against the bar by John Frendo.

Windsor on the other hand made their first real chance pay off.

Lee Kersey played a long ball down the right hand side for Terry O'Connor which seemed to be dealt with by Dave Sargent when he headed the ball back to Dave King.

King hesitated giving O'Connor time to get off a shot that King blocked but could not hold and O'Connor set up Paul Holsgrove who fired in.

Poor defending by the home side moments later allowed Peter Holsgrove to tee himself up for a fantastic volley that went just over the bar.

The second half seemed to tell a different story with Hendon getting level straight after the restart.

With less than 2 minutes on the clock Ross Pickett got off a shot that Chuck Martini seemed to have covered but the ball squirmed through the Windsor keepers hands and into the net.

Hendon were in front within 10 minutes when they caught Windsor on the counter attack.

Lewis Cook had gone clean through for Windsor and when his shot was saved Dave King launched the ball up to Mark Nicholls who fired past Martini.

Windsor struggled in vain t try and get themselves level but on every occasion they just couldn't find the killer blow.
