KERSEY OFF AS ROYALISTS LOSE

Windsor & Eton crashed to their second defeat of the season after losing 2-1 away at Hampton & Richmond.

Luke Fontana and Elliott Godfrey socred for Hampton and Dave Carroll for Windsor in a game that also saw Lee Kersey sent off.

Windsor weren't exactly struggling through the match, but they weren't finding it as easy as they had a few days before against Chatham Town.

An early shout for a penalty when Orlando Jeffrey took out Ryan Peters was the best the visitors could manage in the opening half.

As for the hosts, it took the a while to get started and were rather fortunate in the way they got their first goal.

Lewis Cook had done well to make space for a cross which was headed behind by Hampton's Jamie Jarvis and a goal kick awarded.

Kieron Drake took the kick which found Adrian Allen and he played in Luke Fontana and beat Chuck Martini.

Fontana got a little elaborate with his celebrations earning him a yellow card.

The second half got off to a bad start for Windsor when Allen rounded Martini and shot at an empty net.

Lee Kersey managed to throw himself in front of the goal and deflected the ball over the bar off his head.

The referee's assistant signaled for a penalty and even though Kersey lay dazed and received treatment from where the ball smashed him in the face he was still sent off and a penalty awarded.

Jamie Jarvis stepped up and hit a weak penalty which was an easy save for Martini. Some would say justice was done.

It was clear that it wasn't going to be Windsor's day as when Keith Scott headed in Brahim Eloumani's cross it was judged to have been offside.

Hampton soon doubled their lead when a corner was only cleared as far as substitute Elliott Godfrey who struck a 25 yard effort straight passed Martini.

Windsor managed to pull one goal back when Sofiane Mehdi was tripped earning his side a penalty which Dave Carroll calmly slotted past keeper Drake.
