ROYALISTS LOSE TO TANNERS

Windsor & Eton lost for the second time in three games when they were defeated 1-0 away at Leatherhead.

Paul McKay's second half effort was enough to secure the points for Leatherhead in a match they dominated.

Was Unable To Make A Difference

Even the addition of striker Tony Reid wasn't enough to inspire Windsor to a win.

Leatherhead came on strong right from the start and could have gone ahead when first Damian Panter headed a Wes Harrison cross across goal.

Panter then turned provider when he crossed for Phil Ruggles who's shot was saved from close range.

Windsor came close to an effort late in the half when Matt Brady ran through the Leatherhead midfield before laying the ball off for Craig O'Connor who's shot hit the side netting.

You could tell it wasn't going to be Windsor's night when their best chance actually fell to Leatherhead defender Adam Gray who nearly headed an O'Connor cross past his own keeper.

Leatherhead took the lead in a scrappy fashion. A corner wasn't cleared and the ball was knocked in by Paul McKay.

Windsor tried to mount a late comeback in injury time.

Spencer Walsh forced Michael Johnston into a fine save and then they were denied a blatant penalty when Leon Townley was tripped in the box.
