CAPTAIN COUSINS RESCUES POINT FOR WINDSOR

Windsor & Eton did well to come away from Champion Hill with a point when they let it late to draw 2-2 away at Dulwich Hamlet.

Dave Carroll opened the scoring in controversial fashion with Lee Akers leveling. Omari Coleman put the homes side in the lead with Jason Cousins grabbing a late equaliser.

Windsor manager Dennis Greene gave his new loan signing, Lee Roache, an immediate start in the side opting to play three up-front.

As for Dulwich they had one plan, hit hard and hit fast, and for the opening ten minutes it looked as if it might just work.

Both Craig Dundas and Omari Coleman should have given there side an early lead as they had numerous chances that all went off target.

But, after soaking up all that pressure, it was Windsor that would take the lead in controversial circumstances.

Craig O'Connor played in Lee Roache who flicked the ball over Alex O'Brien and was dispossessed as he went to shoot.

O'Connor attempted to retrieve the ball but was fouled in the process by Kemal Bulent.

Just as Watford had done against Chelsea only a few weeks ago, Dave Carroll struck a free kick that was palmed onto the bar by Scott Ward and as Leon Townley came in for the rebound was cleared.

As the players turned to attack the other end, they noticed the assistant referee signal that the ball was in and a goal was awarded.

Dulwich pulled level midway through the half when they were awarded a free kick on the edge of the area after Coleman had been brought down. Lee Akers struck the ball past the wall and Chuck Martini.

Dulwich kept pressing and Windsor were kept in the game by another quality performance from Martini.

Danny Ward, Charlie Side, Dundas and Coleman all having efforts saved. The later two forcing a great double save from the Windsor keeper.

The second half couldn't have got off to a worse start for the visitors when Dulwich took the lead.

Omari Coleman was played in and while the Windsor defence stood around arguing about the offside flag that didn't come, Coleman fired past Martini.

Windsor finally stepped up a gear and really started to threaten the Dulwich goal. Lee Roache set up Craig O'Connor who had his effort well saved by Scott Ward.

Greene then introduced his second signing of the week when he brought on Younis Nabil who had recently been at Egham Town.

Nabil showed great pace and composure as he tore down the left supplying the balls that the Windsor players should havereally put to good use.

Dulwich had a penalty call turned down late on and if that wasn't bad enough Windsor went straight down the other end to equalise.

Windsor had won a corner which was taken Dave Carroll and played short to Nabil. He played in Craig O'Connor who's cross was flicked up by Lee Akers and slammed into the goal by Jason Cousins.

Keith Scott could and should have won it in injury time when Craig O'Connor got free of the Dulwich right back and cross a ball which Scott chested down and then shot just wide of the post.
