JUST NOT GOOD ENOUGH

Windsor & Eton manager dealt his players a severe verbal bashing after they were knocked out of the Bryco Cup 3-1 away at Molesey.

Greene, who had rested key players ready for Saturdays FA Trophy game, was far from impressed with his sides performance.

Although players were rested, it was far from a depleted side with only three changes from the team that tore apart Ashford in their last game.

Kieran Gallagher, Keith Scott and Dave Carroll made way for Tom Woodcraft and Carlos Newton from the reserve side and Junior Jones.

It took just under a quarter of an hour for Molesey to make an impact and take the lead when Lee Richardson's free kick was turned in by Danny Lovett.

Less than ten minutes later Lovett scored his second, getting the better of Dave Tilbury before firing past Chuck Martini.

Tom Woodcraft had the perfect opportunity to score on his first team debut when the Molesey defence all missed the ball leaving the Windsor striker with just the keeper to beat, but he put the ball inches past the post.

Woodcraft was instrumental in Windsor pulling a goal back when he was brought down by Stuart Booth, winning a penalty.

With Windsor's usual penalty taker being rested, Chuck Martini stepped up and claimed his first goal for the club.

Just before half time there was concern that the game would be abandoned when local youths in a nearby garden started aiming fireworks at the pitch with one rocket just missing spectators behind the Molesey goal then exploding in the corner.

The game did continue and just before the hour mark Molesey added a third goal when Dave Tilbury brought down James Rose and Simon Teague converted the penalty.

Dennis Greene came on as a substitute and could have reduced the deficit in injury time but instead of shooting he elected to take an extra touch before having the ball taken from his feet.

Green made it crystal clear after the match that he will be expecting a far better showing from his players when Enfield visit on Saturday in the FA Trophy.
