WOEFUL WINDSOR STRUGGLE FOR POINT

A very poor performance meant that Windsor & Eton were held to their second goalless draw in as many games, this time away at Marlow.

The only good point of the game was the fact that Chuck Martini kept a clean sheet, even though he made hard work of that.

Windsor stared brightly enough, carving out some useful opportunities.

Craig O'Connor did well to put through Brahim Eloumani who's shot was well held by former Windsor keeper Kieron Drake.

O'Connor then combined with Dave Carroll to beat Tim Cook. Carroll crossed but Eloumani and Keith Scott both missed the ball.

The Windsor side then seemed to lose all their enthusiasm for the game and started to resemble the side that finished last season.

Marlow took advantage of that, and had they been awake when Tim Cook floated a free kick past the Windsor wall which Martini fumbled wide they may have been in front.

Martini was almost caught out again just before half time when Drake's long kick beat the Windsor defence and look an easy take for Martini until Yashwa Romeo nipped in and lobbed wide.

The second half was no better with the ball just going from end to end with no one willing to show any real fight on the pitch.

Both sides could have nicked a goal with Yashwa Romeo colleting a Scott Webb cross which Martini had missed. Luckily for the Windsor keeper, Romeo's shot hit Jamie Furmage's legs and went into his arms.

Windsor's chance fell with minutes remaining. Dave Carroll's cross was chested down by Keith Scott for Craig O'Connor and his shot deflected behind.
