GIBBS HAT-TRICK CAN'T STOP ROYALISTS

Another fine footballing performance saw Windsor & Eton claim all three points in an eight goal thriller.

Two goals from Craig O'Connor, two from Jason Cousins and another from Junior Jones along with Walton's Carl Gibbs hitting a hat-trick served up an entertaining game.

Once again Windsor got going early and didn't really look back.

Chuck Martini easily caught a Walton corner and his quick throw set Kieran Gallagher away through the middle. Gallagher's accurate through ball meant that Craig O'Connor had the simple task of slotting past Tony Tucker.

It wasn't long before the lead was doubled. It was again Gallagher who supply the deadly ball through the center of the Walton defence for Craig O'Connor who rounded Tucker before finishing well.

Walton came close to getting a goal back when Neil Lampton headed a Simon Sobihy corner goalwards and Jack Smillie headed off the line.

They did manage to grab a goal midway through the half when a well worked free kick allowed Sobihy to cross and Carl Gibbs to stab the ball in.

Windsor should have restored their two goal cushion just minutes later when Keith Scott headed on to Terry O'Connor who, under no pressure, had only the keeper to beat and blasted wide.

Windsor were then dealt a major blow when they lost Kieran Gallagher with what looks like a bad hamstring injury.

Although they had lost one of their key players, Windsor pushed on and extended their lead.

Dave Carroll's deep corner was met at the far post by the head of Jason Cousins, who ran off celebrating his first goal for the club.

He didn't have to wait too long for his second, five minutes into the second half to be exact.

Dave Carroll, with a free kick this time, supplied the ball which Cousins headed past Tucker and a crowd of players.

It looked to be all over when Junior Jones headed another Dave Carroll corner past Tucker.

Tempers wore thin and when Rob Wimble went down after being supposedly struck by Cousins, all the players got involved. After calm had been restored the only punishment was for a yellow card for Wimble's play acting.

Walton weren't going to go out without a fight and midway through the half Gibbs was allowed to drift in from the right hand side and hit a wonderful shot past Martini.

Gibbs completed his hat-trick with a goal Martini will not want to see again. Gibbs shot spun up off Martini's gloves hit the floor and spun into the goal.
