BUNTING OUT FOR SEASON AS ROYALISTS LOSE
At 4:21pm on Monday 21st April 2002 Windsor & Eton finally ended their goal drought after 680 minutes but still lost 4-1 at home to Walton & Hersham.
Simon Elcombe finally got Windsor among the goals again but with two goals in each half from Walton & Hersham it was scant consolation which also saw Trevor Bunting strechered off .

Leon Townley Was Left With A Cut Eye After One Challenge
Things didn't start well for Windsor as they lost Michael Murphy within 15 minutes when he was replaced by Matt James.
It then got even worse for Windsor as a minute later Adam Fennell struck a free kick round the wall and past Trevor Bunting for the lead.
Windsor tried to fight back with Simon Elcombe almost getting on the end of a fumble by keeper Nick Gindre.
Gindre then gave Spencer Walsh a good chance from a free kick after he had handled outside the area. Walsh swung the ball towards the far post with Tommy Moorhouse heading off the line.
The Walton defence failed to get the resulting corner clear and when Leon Townley headed down Leigh Rosier's cross and Simon Elcombe turned the ball into the net Windsor thought they were level, but for Townley's foul on Francis Dolan.
Walton doubled their lead when Windsor failed to clear a Francis Dolan free kick and Tinoi Christie was on hand to poke the ball in.

Simon Elcombe Challenges With Tristan Frontin
Windsor came even closer to ending their goal drought when another Spencer Walsh free kick was cleared as far as Leigh Rosier who volleyed the ball against the bar.
From this Walton broke and were awarded a free kick. Carl Gibbs took the kick and Adam Thompson was left alone in the area to head over Bunting.
It was four when another Adam Fennell free kick went around the wall and under Bunting.
Then came the moment that Windsor & Eton supporters had waited 680 minutes for. Simon Elcombe managed to get between the Walton defence and lift the ball over Gindre's head and in to the net.
The Windsor management then looked on in horror as they lost influential goalkeeper Trevor Bunting. He did well to stop a Carl Gibbs shot but in doing trapped his left ankle under his body when he landed tearing ankle ligaments.
With no keeper on the bench and his two other subs already used, manager Dennis Greene came off the bench to take Buntings place.
Greene had very little to do, but his forward line managed to carve out one last effort.
Spencer Walsh's free kick found Leon Townley who crossed for Rob Saunders. His header was weak and easy for Gindre.
