DUCKS RECKON ROYALISTS ARE FAVOURITES

Ryman League Premier Division Aylesbury United host Division One South side Windsor & Eton at Buckingham Road in the Fifth Round of the FA Trophy on Saturday, and victory will put the Ducks into the quarter-finals and equal their best ever run in the competition which came in 1980.

Manager Steve Cordery, a former Windsor player himself, wants a big crowd to get behind his side. "It will be great for the town and a massive achievement if we can reach the quarter-finals. It is fantastic when the fans get behind us.

Dennis Greene

"It sometimes feels like having an extra player on the pitch. It is going to be an exciting game, and I am expecting there to be a lot of attacking play from both sides."

Despite the fact that Windsor are a league below the Ducks' Ryman Premier status, Cordery has surprisingly labelled the Berkshire outfit as favourites to win the match.

"I think it is a massive game," he said. "I would say they are favourites looking at their results and our recent poor results.

"They have to be favourites following that excellent 3-0 away win at UniBond League high-flyers Vauxhall Motors in the last round, and to go and win there means they have to be a very good side."

Gareth Risbridger is receiving treatment for the knock that forced him to be substitued during the recent Sutton United match, and Cordery rates the midfielder "doubtful" for the game. Left-back Alex Stanley is definitely ruled out with an ankle injury.

Windsor boss Dennis Greene (pictured) expects his side to be nearly at full strength, the only absentee will be Michael Murphy, who is suspended following his red card at Bracknell Town.

But Greene has a ready made replacement in the shape of Ryan Parsons, signed on-loan from Wycombe Wanderers for the remainder of the season and the young defender made an excellent debut in Saturday's 3-1 victory over Molesey.

Greene's side have already disposed of three Premier Division outfits on their Trophy run so the trip to Aylesbury won't overawe them.
