ROYALISTS MOTOR ON IN FA TROPHY

It was another amazing performance from all at Windsor & Eton to secure their passage in the FA Trophy with a 3-0 win away at Vauxhall Motors.

First half goals from Sean Dyke, Leon Townley and Kieren Adams was only capped by the on form showing of goalkeeper Trevor Bunting.

Having played Vauxhall only a week ago, manager Dennis Greene knew that a good start would be what his side needed, and a good start they got.

With only a minute on the clock Dave Carroll swung in a free kick and Kieren Adams was only denied by the boot of Kevin Lynch.

The evening got even better on five minutes. Craig O'Connor fed Matt Brady on the left and his cross was missed by Adams and fired home by Sean Dyke.

Adams then volleyed over a Craig O'Connor cross and a well worked corner routine allowed Dyke to strike again which keeper Steve Hilton fumbled before recovering.

Vauxhall tried to force an equaliser and came close when Matt Haddrell headed a Peter Cuminskey cross over.

It got worse for the Cheshire side when Kieren Adams crossed and Leon Townley headed in at the far post and by this time Vauxhall already looked a beaten side.

Not only was Townley giving manager Dennis Greene cause to celebrate at one end, but he was also keeping Vauxhall out at the other.

It was Townley's precision tackle that denied Nicky Young when he had got through.

Craig O'Connor should have also added to the nights tally when he got clean through after Haddrells mis-placed header beat his fellow defenders. Luckily for Haddrell he was denied by Hilton.

The match was all but finished in the first half when Windsor made it three.

O'Connor's cross from a ball that seemed destined to go out was somehow bundled over the line by Kieren Adams.

It wasn't to get any better for Vauxhall in the second half as Windsor looked to increase their lead and they came close a few minutes after the restart.

Matt Brady weaved through the defense with only Hilton to beat but shot over the bar.

O'Connor then headed a Brady free kick over before Vauxhall tried to launch an attack of their own.

Nicky Young's saved shot produced a corner which wasn't cleared allowing Young another chance which was blocked by strike partner Terry Fearns.

Young was clear again when he tried to round Bunting, but he was forced wide by the Windsor shot stopper giving his defence time to recover and clear.

Fearns hit the post and when a mistake from Dave Tilbury let him through again, Bunting was on hand to keep him out.

Fearn's hit the post for a second time in a melee of players before beating Leon Townley and Dave Tilbury only to be denied by Bunting again.

Bunting then pulled of a tremendous triple save when Fearn's, Young and substitute Derek Ward all tried their luck from close range.

Windsor now have a well deserved 5th round tie away at Aylesbury on February 22nd.
