FOREIGN BODIES A HEALTHY ADDITION

THE Royalists were quick to take the opportunity to showcase their talents at Saturday’s FA Trophy third round tie.

With most of the scheduled Ryman league fixtures called off because of the weather, Stag Meadow played host to visiting fans from rivals Slough Town among others.

The Rebels faithful were greeted to taunts of ‘Slough Town we hate you’ from Windsor fans, but went away somewhat envious of what Dennis Greene has done for the side since taking over 15 months ago.

Also swelling the gate to a modest 307 were fans from Kingstonian whose game against Aylesbury was called off late.

And there were even supporters from Exeter City and Plymouth Argyle who had set out only to suffer a similar fate.

The extra bodies helped Windsor achieve their biggest gate of the season, only the pre-season friendly turnout of 600 plus against AFC Wimbledon exceeding this.

Victory over Thame netted the Royalists another £1,100 from this season’s FA Trophy campaign, pushing the total to £2,700 for the rounds played so far.
