BRADY TREBLE SINKS HORSHAM

Windsor & Eton got an early Christmas present as they beat Horsham 3-1 at Stag Meadow.

Horsham, who started the day in 2nd place, went ahead through Gavin Geddes but were not able to prevent a Matt Brady first half hat-trick.

Brady...First Half Hat-Trick

Windsor dominated the game and should have been in front before Horsham took the lead.

Gordon Hill, in for the suspended Craig O'Connor, blasted over the bar twice after crosses from Dave Carroll and Michael Murphy.

Unlike Windsor, Horsham took their opening chance when it came.

Rob Collins fed Gavin Geddes and the Windsor defence stopped thinking Geddes was offside. Geddes ran through and shot past Steve Williams.

Horsham led for literally a minute. Dave Carroll was brought down on the edge of the area and Matt Brady hit the free kick low past Ian Chatfield.

Windsor killed the game off at the end of the first half.

Carroll's pin point ball split the Horsham defence allowing Brady in to round Chatfield and then a couple of defenders before scoring.

Brady completed hi shat-trick in first half injury time. Leon Townley's free kick found Michael Murphy in the corner who crossed to Gordon Hill. His turn and shot was parried by Chatfield allowing Brady an easy finish.

Horsham had their chances to get themselves back into the game in the second half.

David Flemming had a header well saved by Williams and somehow Rob Collins has his effort blocked on the line.

Windsor also had a couple of chances to extend their lead. Murphy managed to beat Matt Ottley and Steve Payne And crossed for Hill who put wide.

Substitute Matt James could have had the last say of the match when he tried to connect with a Murphy cross but was only an inch away.
