ROYALISTS SHARE POINTS WITH HIGH FLYING LEWES
Windsor & Eton earned a deserved point holding Lewes to a goal-less draw.
Lewes, second in Division 1 (South) before the game, looked unsteady for a team that had been scoring for fun in the past few weeks.

Their uncertainty showed when they failed to clear a Matt Brady free kick allowing Dave Carroll to cross with Dave Tilbury just inches away from making contact with the cross.
Windsor were not making things easy for themselves and should have been down to ten men, if the referee and his assistant knew what they were doing.
Sean Dyke and Danny Davis tangled by the touchline, directly in front of the assistant. Dyke stamped on Davis' chest and the assistant did nothing, but the referee, 20 yards away, seemed to see the whole incident which earned Dyke a yellow card.
Marc Cable then took down Dave Carroll as he crossed for Craig O'Connor, but no free kick was given, and when O'Connor received the ball he was booked for a 'challenge' on Julian Curnow.

Lewes had very few chances in the first half and for one the top scoring teams this season they should have done better with their only chance.
Dominic Barclay managed to stay onside when he was played through but his cross was wasted by Matt Allen.
Spencer Walsh found his was into the referee's book just before half time when once again the referee got another 50-50 challenge wrong.

The second half saw debut keeper Steve Williams have to recover from a poor clearance which fell to Barclay who ran through and shot, forcing a good save from Williams.
It also saw the introduction of another new signing when Julian Renner-Thomas replaced Michael Murphy.
A possible new signing also took to the field and almost made the perfect start. Tony Reid headed goalwards but was denied by Williams.

Dave Carroll Supported By Kieren Adams
Julian Curnow and Paul Kennett managed to escape bookings when they took down Craig O'Connor and Dave Carroll respectively.
The latter challenge brought an end to Carroll's afternoon and he was replaced by another new face, Rob Saunders.
Lewes had the chance to win the match on the stroke of 90 minutes when Williams did well to stop Gareth Green's shot and then Jamie Furmage threw himself in front of Reid's follow up.
