Pre-Season Starts With Win
Windsor & Eton kicked off their pre-season campaign with a hard fought win against Zamaretto League Division 1 Central Slough Town.
Goals in the first half from David Pearce and Ryan Bernard were too much for Slough who's second half goal came from Simon Martin.
This was the Royalists first pre-season run out compared to the Rebels third and the early possession reflected this.
But despite this it was Windsor that took the lead when a cross field pass from Jake Parsons found David Pearce who ran through to beat Ricky Perks.
Slough had more than enough chances to get themselves not only level but in the lead.
Firstly Yiadom Yeboah had a header cleared off the line closely followed by a fine Tom McNeill save.
McNeill then denied former Royalist Craig O'Connor when his poor header from Steve Sinclair's cross went straight into the keepers arms.
Windsor doubled their lead in the later stages of the half when Craig Parrington's free kick was flicked on by Michael Chennells allowing Ryan Bernard to head past Perks.
Wholesale changes throughout the second half provided a look at some more of the new signing and trialist's.
Midway through the half Slough managed to pull a goal back when Stuart Swift's cross found the head of Martin who beat James Larkin.
Martin could have grabbed an equaliser in the closing moments but he lifted the ball just over the bar.
