Royalists Wrap-Up Title
Windsor & Eton rounded off an impressive season by lifting the Zamaretto League Division One South & West title following a 1-0 home win against VT FC.
Having been pushed all the way by runners-up AFC Totton, Windsor new a win against VT FC would guarantee them the league title.
Early pressure went the way of the home side but it would be VT that would have the first meaningful effort on goal.
A long range effort from Ryan Ashford kicked up off a bobble on the pitch and thankfully for Windsor came back off James Courtnage's chest before being cleared.
Jake Parsons continued his superb form and looked to have set Windsor on their way when his cross was headed back across goal by Joe Chandiram for Nathan Jack but his effort was saved.
Parsons did however set up Windsor's winning goal when his cross resulted in a goalmouth scramble that was eventually put over the line by Jack.
n extended half time saw emergency repairs to the floodlights which had gone out in the first half and threatened to put the brakes on Windsor's celebrations.
The second half was cagey with no real chances except when Jack managed to make room for a shot that went just wide of the post.
Numerous changes and a few minutes added time later and cue the celebrations as Windsor lifted their first league title in 26 years.
