| ROYALISTS SUFFER SECOND DEFEAT |
Windsor & Eton suffered only their second defeat in as many matches going down 1-0 at home to Cirencester Town. But the match won't really be remembered for Windsor suffering their second loss but for the collection of bookings for the visitors and a possible season ending injury for Rob Bullivant. Bullivant did well to keep out Jody Bevan in the early exchanges with Ryan Parsons doing well to clear after the save. Then, with less than 10 minutes gone Jason Welsh picked up what would be the first of 5 first half bookings for Cirencester that would soon rise to eight in the second half. Mid-way through the half Bruce Wilson forced Matt Heath into action after Gavin Smith had brought the ball down. Then, as half time loomed, Bevan collided with Bullivant twisting the knee of the keepers standing leg. Despite seeing out the final minutes of the half, Bullivant was replaced at half time by defender David Woozley. It wasn't long before Woozley was called into action as he did well to save Welsh's header. Later in the half Cirencester should have done better during a goalmouth scramble that saw Woozley's defensive instincts kick in as he tried to clear the ball rather than pick it up. Michael Chennells had a perfect opportunity to put Windsor ahead but as he got to the edge of the box the ball bobbled up allowing the defender to clear. Despite Woozley's heroics there wasn't much he could do about Welsh's 89th minute winner. Zak Westlake managed to cross from the right and Welsh nipped in to head low into the bottom corner. |
