| ROYALISTS ROUT ROVERS |
Another 4 goals, another clean sheet and another 3 points edged Windsor & Eton closer to the league title with a 4-0 home win against Paulton Rovers. With just two minutes on the clock top scorer Michael Chennells got on the end of Matt Seedel’s through ball and calmly slotted past Kyle Phillips. Chennells should have added more moments later when he first put the ball across the box and then headed Seedel’s cross over the bar. Gavin Smith then did the same from a Ryan Parsons cross as Windsor really applied the pressure to their visitors. Paulton’s best chance of the half came from and goalmouth scramble following a Charlie Rich corner which ended up with a Dan Cleverley shot being blocked. In the final minutes of the half saw Chennells come close to a carbon copy of his opening goal but this time the ball came back off the post. The second half again saw Windsor on top and mid-way through the half double their lead. Jake Parsons corner found the head of Seedel and despite a Paulton defender trying to handle on the line the ball went in. As the half drew to a close Windsor effectively sealed the points when Bruce Wilson struck a 40yard free kick onto the underside of the bar and into the net. Three soon became four when Andrew Fagan slipped in Gavin Smith who played the ball across the box for Seedel to finish easily. Chennells should have added a fifth at the death when he managed to beat Lee Marshall and Alex Ball before his shot was saved by Phillips. |
