| CHENNELLS DOUBLE TAMES LIONS |
Another 2 goals fom Michael Chennells extended Windsor & Eton's unbeaten run to 29 games and more importantly increased the gap at the top of the league to 17 points after a 2-0 win away at Andover.Things almost got off to the worst start possible for the Royalists when Tom Goodings cross found Luke Baker totally un-marked in the Windsor area but his effort was hit straight into the arms of Rob Bullivant. Windsor took the lead moments later through a Chennells penalty after the Windsor frontman was sent tumbling in the box by Jason Sangya. Chennells picked himself up and duly struck the spot kick past David Hook. Chennells then set up Matt Seedel, who's shot was acrobatically turned over the bar by Hook. Chennells then had an effort of his own tipped over the bar by Hook from a tight angle before Andover had there second best chance of the half. A long ball down field was flicked on by Phil Andrews allowing Gooding the chance to shoot but his strike went wide of the post. The start of the second half saw early chances for Gooding, baker and Adam Wiltshire but all efforts were easily dealt with by the visiting defence. Just before the hour when a determined run by Jake Parsons ended with a perfect ball through to Chennells who made no mistake in firing the ball past Hook and into the goal. A flurry of changes from both sides failed to change the scoreline although Bruce Wilson came closest of all when his 30 yard effort just failed to dip under the bar with Hook well beaten. |
