| SMITH STRIKE KEEPS RUN GOING |
Windsor & Eton have stretched their unbeaten league season to 27 games following a 1-1 draw away at Frome Town.Early pressure failed to benefit the visitors as they struggled to apply the killer finish. Jake Parsons continued to torment the opposition defences and when cross was fumbled by Tom Pass in the early stages Michael Chennells almost nipped in to open the scoring but Pass was quick to recover. A corner for the home side mid-way through the half wasn't properly cleared by the Windsor defence allowing Luke Ballinger to strike from the corner of the area and his strike deflected off the head of Andrew Fagan and past Rob Bullivant. A nasty collision on the stroke of half time involving Craig Fullam and Jake Parsons resulted in the Frome defender requiring hospital treatment for a suspected fractured cheek bone. The second half saw more pressure from Windsor but an inability to convert until mid-way through the second half. Chennells slid the ball through to Smith who managed to turn his marker before calmly slotting the ball un Pass and into the net. Windsor though that they had taken the lead just a minute later when Smith played in Chennells who duly beat Pass and put the ball in the net only for the goal to be dis-allowed due to a hand ball. |
