| ROYALISTS HELD AT THATCHAM |
Windsor & Eton's unbeaten league run continued with a goalless draw away at Thatcham Town. Both sides had a good run of games to keep going into this match with Thatcham unbeaten in their previous 6 matches. Windsor started brightly enough with Andrew Fagan heading an early Scott Thomas corner over the bar. Steve Butler then came close from another corner, this time from Bruce Wilson, but his effort was cleared off the line by Ben McReedy. Thatcham gave as good as they got and were only denied by an inspired Rob Bullivant. He gathered well from a Dean Stow header and then pulled off a superb save to deny Stow for a second time. As the half drew to a close a Wilson corner gave Fagan the chance to head for goal but his effort was saved by Paul Strudley. The second half saw Thatcham start the stronger and Dean Stow continue to torment the Windsor goal. He forced Bullivant in to a fine double save in the opening minutes and then mid-way through the half was denied by Bullivant once more. From the resulting corner, taken by Stow, Sam Rae headed goalwards only for Thomas to somehow keep the ball out with his chest. Boh sides came close as the match drew to a close with Michael Chennells having the best of the chances when he went through only to shoot just wide of the post. |
