| CHENNELLS TRIPLE EXTENDS LEAD |
Windsor & Eton have further extended their lead at the top of the Zamaretto League Division 1 South & West to 17 points after they won 3-0 at VT FC and AFC Totton lost 2-0 at Cinderford.Windsor got out of the blocks early and were ahead after just 7 minutes when Michael Chennells shrugged off Matt Troon before slamming the ball past Lee Webber. There was plenty of midfield action and half chances for both sides but on 33 minutes Chennells added his secodn and turned the match well and truly in Windsors favour. He raced through and with just Webber to beat rifled a low shot past the keeper and literaly broke the net. Joe Chandiram should have added a third a minute later when Chennells brought down Nathan Jack's cross, setting up Chandriam who fired over. Minutes before the break Warren Hunt had an effort well saved by Rob Bullivant when it looked as if the Windsor keeper was stranded after Marvin MClean rolled the ball across the goal. The early stages of the second half saw a rare attempt at goal for the home side when Paul Sales headed Tyronne Bowers cross goalwards only to be denied by a fine save from Bullivant. Windsor never really looked back from then on and when Marcus Richardson spurned a good chance it looked as if they would have to settle for just a 2-0 win. That soon changed in the final moments of the match when Ryan Parsons long ball was flicked on by Richardson allowing Chennells to run through and slip the ball past Webber to complete his hat-trick. |
