| ROYALISTS SEE OFF MILLERS |
Windsor & Eton racked up yet another three points with a deserved 3-0 win away at North Leigh.North Leigh, you last played a month ago, almost gifted Windsor with a lead in the opening couple of minutes. A poor pass in midfield allowed Joe Chandiram to play the ball into Michael Chennells but he was denied by Adam Lonsdale. Chennells then teed up Bruce Wilson who managed to turn only to see Lonsdale push his shot around the post. The Millers then survived a goalmouth scramble when they failed to deal with Chandiram's cross. North Leigh did manage the odd effort with Aaron Posey forcing Rob Bullivant to tip the ball over the bar and from the resulting corner Posey put a free header past the post. From there Windsor didn't look back and eventually took the lead when Wilson picked the ball up in midfield and struck an effort from 35 yards sending the ball into the bottom corner of the net. The lead was doubled a couple of minutes later when Bullivant's long kick landed between the defence and Lonsdale allowing Chennells to knock the ball past the keeper and tap it into an empty net. Chennells should have added a third just before half time but his header from a CHandiram cross went just past the post. The second half began with a shaky start by Windsor allowing North Leigh the chance to impose some pressure of their own. A couple of goalmouth scrambles and poor cross's ensured Windsor kept their two goal lead. That two goal lead almost became three when Jake Parsons cut inside and let off a shot that unfortunately came back off the wrong side of the post. A spate of heavy challenges saw two in the book for North Leigh and one for Windsor but it would be Windsor's football that would have the final say on the match. A Wilson free kick setup Andrew Fagan but his effort was saved earning a corner. From the resulting corner, Wilson sent ball in the box where Fagan headed down for Matt Seedel to finish. |
