| ROYALISTS FINISH YEAR UNBEATEN |
Windsor & Eton will go into the New Year still unbeaten in the league following a 2-0 away win against Bedfont Green.Guests turned hosts in this match as it was the Royalists tenants that had home advantage. But there should a been a numerical advantage for Windsor as early as the 2nd minute when a knee high challenge from Tommy McCarthy on Bruce Wilson only produced a yellow card when a red may have been more fitting. Gary Ross then pulled off a great save to keep out a long range effort from Steve Butler while at the other end Chris Henry went close hitting the post. Ryan Parsons then set up brother Jake with a cross from the left but the younger of the Parson brother lashed his effort wide of the post. Late into the half and Ryan Parsons turned provider again, this time for Victor Osobu but as the Royalists striker took control of the ball he was sent tumbling by Fergus Moore but no penalty was forthcoming. Michael Chennells then played in Jake Parsons but another fine save from Ross ensured that the scores were level at half time. The start of the second half saw the home side apply momentary early pressure in the form of a couple of corners without really troubling the visiting defence. Windsor were however edging closer to the goal that there pressure had deserved. Jake Parson's cross found the head of Chennells who in turn found Andrew Fagan who shot wide of the post. Windsor finally took the lead on the hour mark when Jake Parsons slipped the ball through to Joe Chandiram and his shot was palmed into the net by Ross. The points were sewn up in injury time when Ryan Wharton ran three quarters of the pitch with the ball only to be bundled off the ball by James Ward earning a penalty. Matt Seedel stepped up and beat Ross to mark his 150th start with his 59th club goal. |
