| SIX OF THE BEST FOW ROBINS |
Windsor & Eton have opened the gap at the top of the Zamaretto League Division 1 South & West to 8 points following a 6-0 home victory against Bracknell Town.Windsor dominated from the start and should have had a penalty as early as the 5th minute when Gavin Smith was bundled over by Adam Toone. Just minutes later Smith should have headed Windsor ahead from Jake Parsons cross but he was just beaten to the ball by Gary Smith. Parsons again found Smith, this time from a corner, but his header was cleared off the line with Matt Seedel’s follow up effort well saved by Kyle Bradley. Windsor finally got the goal they deserved on 26 minutes when Jake Parsons cross was missed by Smith and headed in by Bracknell defender Kharis Lavine. Windsor continued to apply pressure and doubled the lead when Bracknell failed to clear Bruce Wilson’s free kick allowing Michael Chennells to knock the ball back into the area for Smith to head in. Andrew Fagan then had a header cleared off the line before Windsor broke through Dave Pearce who found Jake Parsons and he rolled in Chennells to grab the third. First half injury time saw Smith head his second and Windsor’s 4th when Ryan Wharton put the ball back in the after a Wilson corner. Changes from both sides at the start of the second half saw Windsor continue to dominate and should have gone further ahead. Victor Osobu came on and tormented the Bracknell defence firstly denied by Bradley and then set up Windsor’s fifth. Osobu found Dave Pearce on the edge of the area and he then rolled the ball to Jake Parsons who shot low past Bradley. Fagan then curled an effort onto the bar which also saw Bradley go off injured and Bracknell down to 10 men as they had just used their final subs. Gary Smith kept the score at five by somehow clearing Ryan Wharton’s effort off the line. Ryan Parsons then picked up the ball from the edge of his own area and ran the whole length of the pitch, lifting the ball over stand in keeper Zac Gill but wide of the post. The sixth was added in injury time when Jake Parsons shot was spilled by Gill and slotted in by Pearce. |
