Windsor & Eton returned to the top of the Zamaretto League Division 1 South & West table with a well deserved 3-0 win away at Hungerford Town. The match never really got going in the first half and the only real chance fell to Windsor's Scott Thomas when his free kick was well saved by James Foster. The second half, however, saw Windsor take the lead within the opening 10 minutes. Bullivant's long kick missed out the home defence allowing Michael Chennells to run through and blast past Foster despite the Hungerford keeper getting hands to the ball. Bradley Clark came close to brining the scores level when he struck a deflected effort from just outside the area forcing Bullivant into a fine save. Hungerford almost got a lucky break mid-way through the half when Dave Pearce's attempted clearance hit Steve Cook and came back and hit the top of the crossbar. The lead was soon doubled when Pearce hit a long ball that Foster came to clear only to hit it against Victor Osobu who then rounded the keeper before finishing from a tight angle. Pearce then got himself on the score sheet when a poor kick from Foster was controlled by Chennells who plaed in Pearce and he slotted past the keeper. |
