WINDSOR & Eton are aiming for the Conference South according to manager Keith Scott who missed out on the Wycombe Wanderers job after being heavily linked.

The bookmakers had him down at 9-1 for the role at the League One strugglers which was given to former Aldershot boss Gary Waddock on Tuesday night.

Scott is concentrating on the Stag Meadow outfit moving up the leagues, but only with some more financial backing, and he believes that they have the potential to reach the Conference South.

"We are heading in the right direction," remarked the Royalists supremo. "On the field the club have come a long way and we are looking to do that off the field as well.

"We would like to raise the profile of the club - get supporters coming down and local backing.

"I believe that the club can definitely reach the Conference South. It certainly has the potential to go there in the next three or four years but we need the financial backing to do so."

On missing out on the Wycombe hotseat, Scott commented: "From my point of view for me to be one of the bookies front runners and from what I was told on the Wycombe website there was a big support from the supporters.

"I was overwhelmed by that support and it's nice to know that they still hold me in high regard."
