| ROYALISTS LEAVE IT LATE |
Windsor & Eton left it late to continue their unbeaten run with an injury time winner against AFC Hayes.Windsor started well enough dominating the early exchanges and should have gone a couple up in the opening minutes. Jake parsons cross was headed straight into the arms of John Peacock by Matt Seedel closely followed by Parsons having an effort deflected over. Parsons continued to supply the ammunition but chances for Michael Chennells and Andrew Fagan all went wide. Windsor were left to rue those missed chances when Darren Butler capitalised on Windsor failing to clear the ball and shot past Rob Bullivant. The second half got underway and Windsor found themselves pegged back as AFC Hayes came out looking to add to their first half lead. Despite a few half chances they could not find the second goal that would have probably killed the match off. Their cause wasn't helped just after the hour when David Taylor picked up his second yellow card of the match when he brought down Matt Seedel. A spate of bookings and interruptions then ensued despite the fact that it had been a relatively clean game. As the match drew to a close it looked as if Windsor would be suffering their first league defeat of the season until Michael Chennells popped up with his 5th of the season. Ryan Wharton's ball into the area was chested down and struck by Adam Wallace but his effort was saved allowing Chennells to bundle the ball over the line. Then, deep into injury time Steve Dell's free kick was only cleared as far as Fagan on the edge of the area who volleyed the ball past Peacock. The evening got worse for the home side after the match when Vince Rispoli took his comments too far and earned a second yellow card. |
